Girls' Soccer Signing

Saints Playing in College Next Year
Haylee Kurek, Brodie Russ, and Jordan Zopp, three key members of the Concordia Prep School girls soccer team during the past four seasons, are officially signing with Stevenson University, Randolph Macon College (Va.), and Lycoming University (Pa.), respectively, to extend their sterling careers on the collegiate pitch.

Here is a snapshot of their Concordia Prep careers as well as a look ahead.

Haylee Kurek
Varsity starter: four years
Position(s): Center Back, Center Defensive Midfielder, Center Offensive Midfielder
“Every time I think of you/I always catch my breath”: Haylee said she will miss her coaches and teammates.
Favorite moment on the pitch at Concordia: “My favorite moment is celebrating senior night with my fellow seniors.”
Next destination: Haylee chose Stevenson University “because I can stay close to my family and focus on my academics while having the ability to play soccer.”
“These classes can be REAL inconvenient.”: My major is nursing. My goal is to  be prepared for life after college in the medical field and the real world.”
“Find out what you like doing best, and get someone to pay you for doing it.”: “I plan to explore the medical field and find a good fit for myself.”

Brodie Russ 
Varsity starter: four years
Position(s): Center Back, Center Defensive Midfielder, Center Offensive Midfielder
Favorite moment on the pitch at Concordia: "My favorite moment is the Senior Game. Although the game did not end how I would have wanted it to, it was a great last home game with the six seniors that I started with.”
“Every time I think of you/I always catch my breath”: “I will miss the team and the friends I made while being on the team, along with the coaches who made it a memorable last year. “
Next destination: “I am signing with Randolph Macon because the coach always managed to reach out to me and check in on me ever since she showed interest in me.” 
Other schools under consideration: Old Dominion, Maryland-Baltimore County, North Carolina at Charlotte, and Salisbury
“These classes can be REAL inconvenient.”: “My goal is to expand my athletic career while also furthering my academic interests in Education or Sports Management.”
“Find out what you like doing best, and get someone to pay you for doing it.”: “I want to either become a teacher or an athletic manager at a high level.”

Jordan Zopp
Varsity starter: four years
Position(s): Outside back
Favorite moment at Concordia: “My favorite memory was our playoffs my sophomore year. Although we lost in the semis, making it that far was truly so exciting and I would do anything to repeat that.”
“Every time I think of you/I always catch my breath”: “I think what I will miss most is the girls. I truly enjoyed every practice and game and just hanging out and becoming close with the girls.” 
Next destination: “Lycoming college. I chose Lycoming because of the small campus and how welcoming the team and coach were. They made it feel like home the second I stepped on campus.”
Other schools under consideration: “I talked to many small schools but none of them stood out to me the way Lycoming did.”
“These classes can be REAL inconvenient.”: “I plan to major in pre-med to eventually become a nurse. My goals are to enjoy these next four years and graduate with a degree.”
“Find out what you like doing best, and get someone to pay you for doing it.”: “In the future, I want to be a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) nurse.”
