Middle School Field Trip – Tuesday, May 7, 2024

Day/Time:
  Tuesday, May 7th, 2024. All students should arrive to school by 7:55.
  • 6th Grade will depart at 8:30 a.m. and return to school around 3:00 p.m.
  • 7th Grade will depart at 8:15 a.m. and return to school around 3:30 p.m.
  • 8th Grade will depart at 8:15 a.m. and return to school around 4:00 p.m.  
 *** Please note that return times are our best estimates dependent on traffic ***
 
Locations:
  • 6th Grade will travel to Annapolis to tour the State House, St. Johns College, US Naval Academy, and a narrated cruise on the Severn River.
  • 7th Grade will travel to Mt. Vernon to explore George and Martha Washington's home, estate, a working farm, gardens, outbuildings, dock, burial grounds, and visitor center.
  • 8th Grade will travel to Gettysburg with a licensed battlefield tour guide and explore the Gettysburg exhibits, Cyclorama, and video.
Lunch:
All students should bring a lunch with them. Please note that there will be no way to warm up food and no refrigeration for lunches so please plan accordingly. 
 
 *** Mt Vernon has a food court to purchase lunch, but lunchtime is limited so we encourage students to bring their lunches.***
 
Travel:
All our travel arrangements will be through Greenspring Tours.
 
Permission Slips/Payment: $30
All Middle School students are required to have a waiver signed by parents to attend the field trips. The waivers can be found in OnCampus. When you log into your account, you will see a yellow bar that says you have forms to review. Middle School students must have one parent or guardian fill out and sign the 2024 Field Trip Permission Form by Tuesday, April 30th. Students who do not have a signed waiver will not be allowed to attend and should remain at home. 
 
We will accept cash or check(payable to Concordia Preparatory School).
 
Chaperones:
Concordia Prep Staff will lead all three field trips. We are seeking parent chaperones for all three field trips. Please email Mr. Miller (CurtisMiller@Concordiaprepschool.org) if you are willing to chaperone or if you have questions about what chaperoning entails.
