CPS Summer Work for New and Returning Students

Congratulations on the completion of another school year! To help maintain your skills and to help prepare you for the academic challenges of the 2020-2021 school year, some classes require coursework to take place over the summer months. Students may be asked to complete mathematics problems, read books, complete assignments in English or World Languages, and/or get a jump on AP Courses. Areas of study include most Math, English/Language Arts, World Language, and several Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Don’t delay. Start today!

Personal Device Policy for 2020-2021

Personal Device Technical Requirements:

  1. The device must be a laptop or a tablet with a 7” or larger screen size.
  2. The device must use a supported operating system that is actively updated by the manufacturer, i.e. Microsoft Windows 10 or Apple iOS 13.
  3. The device must have a modern, fully-featured web browser; such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. **The device must be able to specifically run the Google Chrome web browser.
  4. The device must have fully functional, active anti-virus/anti-malware software (most modern computers have built-in software tools). **Tablets; such as iPads or Chromebooks are excluded from this requirement.
  5. The device must have a functioning built-in camera.
  6. A full-sized keyboard is strongly recommended.

We also recommend the student carries the device in a protective case, sleeve, or laptop bag. The school’s Technology Department is not authorized to repair a student’s personal computer.

The CPS technology department recommends the following devices:

  • Windows 10 laptop
  • Apple MacBook
  • Microsoft Surface
  • Google Chromebook
  • Apple iPad (excluding the mini version)

2020-2021 Bus Information

Concordia Preparatory School is pleased to announce bus transportation to and from school for the 2020-2021 academic year. There are two routes:

  1. Catonsville Route: The Catonsville bus leaves the Ingleside Shopping Center (5668 Baltimore National Pike) in Catonsville each school day at 6:45 am. It stops at 7405 Liberty Road at approximately 7:00 am and then continues to Concordia Prep. The bus leaves CPS each school day at 3:45 pm and stops at Liberty Road and Catonsville.
  2. Harford County Route: The Harford County bus leaves Harford Mall (696 Belair Road) each school day at 6:40 am. It stops at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School (12022 Jerusalem Road) at approximately 7:00 am and then continues to Concordia Prep. The bus leaves CPS each school day at 3:45 pm and stops at St. Paul’s and Harford Mall.

Payment Options:

  1. Pay the bus service fee for the 2020-2021 school year before the school year begins on August 26, 2020. Parents who choose this option will receive a 5% discount on the yearly cost of the bus.
  2. Pay the bus service fee monthly through the FACTS Tuition Management program.

Cost: The cost of the 2020-2021 bus service is $900.00 for the entire year or $100.00 per month from September 2020 through May 2021. Parents who pay the entire year before August 26, 2020, will pay $855.00 (5% discount). The price of bus transportation has been discounted for the 2020-2021 school year because of the hybrid beginning to the school year.

Uniforms and Dress Code

Lands’ End is the sole provider of school uniform bottoms, shirts, and sweaters. All of these uniform pieces must be purchased through Lands’ End. The preferred school code is 900101890. For more details, go to

Acceptable Shoe Policy

Please review the following PDF for details about the acceptable shoes for Upper School and Middle School students. Middle School students may also wear athletic shoes that must not exceed three colors including the brand logo and may not have metallic/shiny finishes.

Schedules and Books

Schedules will be distributed during the new student orientation night on Monday, August 24. During the evening, staff members will provide information regarding school policy and practice and other information to help you transition into CPS. Students will have time to locate their lockers, try out locker combinations, stow school supplies, receive individual schedules, and briefly visit classes.

All students will receive school supply requirements from their teachers on the first day or two of classes. Please come on the first day with general school supplies, such as notebooks or binders, folders, pens, and pencils.

All new students must submit an immunization record and a Concordia Prep Record of Physical Examination or Preparticipation Physical Examination. Students trying out for fall sports will need to have a physical on file before they can participate in practices. Contact the school nurse, Mrs. Ellen Marquardt at with any questions or concerns.

Hot Lunches

Hot lunches from Terri’s Cafe will be sold Monday-Thursday. Parents must pre-order all lunches from Terri’s Cafe. Friday lunches will be sold by different school groups. These lunches will be advertised a week before. Students will purchase these lunches on Friday. Friday lunches vary from pizza, Chick-fil-A, and Hotdogs.
